Franz Pitner (1826-1892) "Female Nude", Drawing, 1882 175 EUR - 50% DISCOUNT = 87,50 EUR Franz Pitner was a renowned Austrian portrait and genre painter of the second half of the 19th century. He studied in Vienna and Rome, where he stayed during 1853-1854. He was also active in Venice. He died in 1892 in Bozen, South Tyrol, then part of Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Italy. Provenance: This work formerly belonged to the artist's estate which was housed from 1893 until 1990 at the artists' association and the greatest Viennese exhibition hall "Kuenstlerhaus" (see stamp on verso). Condition: In good condition, restored tear on upper right corner, unframed.
