The well-known German artist Johann Georg Trautmann (1713 Zweibruecken - 1769 Frankfurt a.M.) studied under J.H. Schlegel in Frankfurt am Main, worked first as a helper of a wallpaper manufacturer and from the mid 1740s started as portrait painter in manner of Rembrandt. He was also known for his fire paintings in style of the 17th century Dutch artists. His works are displayed in various German and international museums.
