According to our friend and permanent advisor, well-known uniformologist and author of numerous publications on Napoleonica, Dr. Dimitri Gorchkoff (Moscow) the sitter wears an uniform of military "medecin en chef" (chief-physician) for the period of 1821-1831. It is a work of a good French portrait miniaturist from the epoch of Restoration.
