Rudolf Hafner (1893 Vienna - 1951 Vienna) studied under L. Herterich at the Munich Academy. After 1918 he spent a few years undertaking study trips to Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. Thereafter, he began his career as a stage designer. Together with Anton Wildhans and Franz Herterich he worked at the Viennese "Burgtheater", "Schönnbrunner Schlosstheater", "Academietheater", as well as other Viennese stages. From 1925 he showed his works (also oil paintings) in greatest Austrian exhibition hall "Wiener Kuenstlerhaus". In 1946 he obtained a title of Professor.
