Karl Mediz (1868 Vienna - 1945 Dresden) was a very well-known Austro-German artist who was born in Vienna and died in Dresden, Germany. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Art as pupil of Professor Griepenkerl and continued his studies in Paris at the Academie Julian as well as in Dachau and Munich. He was married to the famous Austrian artist Emilie Mediz-Pelikan.
