According to old authentic inscription on verso (very like written by artist herself; see our image nr.8), it is a portrait of little Marie Duprat at the age of …(?) and a half years (painted) par (by) Mlle Verret.
Mlle Verret is known (according to Schidlof and Lemoine-Bouchard) through a miniature signed and dated 1790 that was formerly in d. David-Weill Collection (see our image nr.9).
