According to old inscriptions on verso this is a portrait of certain Count Sandor, one of respresentatives of Hungarian aristocracy.
The miniature shows all stylistic criteria of works of well-known Vienna 19th century miniaturist Albert Theer and with a very great possibility could be also an original work of his (see also other works of this artist in our possession).
Albert Theer (1815 Johannisberg - 1902 Vienna) was a member of a famous Viennese artist family. He was the younger brother of Robert and Adolf Theer and came to Vienna together with his brothers in 1820 to be a pupil of the Academy. He painted miniature portraits in watercolor and oils and worked as a lithographer. Albert Theer exhibited at the Vienna Academy from 1835 to 1848.
