Franz Xaver Petter (1791 Vienna - 1866 ibidem) was a leading Austrian flower painter in the 1st half of 19th century. He was a pupil of J.B. Drechsler and S. Wegmayr at the Vienna Academy; from 1814 - taught at the School of Flower Drawing of the Academy; from 1832 was a Professor of the Drawing School of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory, and from 1835 - its Director.
