A miniature of highest quality, probably portraying Mme Lucie Desmoulins, nee Duplessis (1770-1794), wife of the famous French revolutionary Camille Desmoulins (see our image nr.8). It meets stylistic criteria of works of the famous French neoclassical female artist, Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun (1755 Paris - 1842 Paris), and is a work of a French artist working in her style at the time.
