Michel ThoŘesny (1754 Bayex - 1815 Lille; see our image nr.9 with clips of his biography from N. Lemoine-Bouchard) was a son of a merchant. He is mentioned as living in Paris, rue Bourbon - Villeneuve already in 1782. In this year he debuted with his self-portrait and some other miniatures at the Salon de la Correspondance.
