Carl Lafite (1830 Vienna - 1900 Vienna) was a well-known Austrian landscape painter of the 19th century. Brother of another popular Viennese artist Ernst Lafite, he was pupil of E.v.Lichtenfels and F.Steinfeld at the Vienna Academy. He was also an art teacher in several families of the Austrian high society. In 1850s/1860s he exhibited in "Oesterreichischer Kuenstlerverein", later participated in all annual exhibitions in "Wiener Kuentslerhaus".
