Carl Peter Goebel was a very well-known Austrian historical and religious painter of the 19th century. He was born in Wuerzburg, Germany, studied at the Vienna Academy and started exhibiting in 1816. Like the famous artist Fueger, Goebel was a typical representative of the Viennese Neoclassical style. He died already at the age of 32, and therefore his works are very rare in the art market, but belong to collections of the Austrian National Gallery and other museums.
Condition: In good overall condition, professionally lined, under ultra violet: a few insignificant touch-ups on the background. Please note the condition of frames is not guaranteed.
