Offered here is a preparatory drawing made in 1910 for Munich satirical magazine "Fliegende Blaetter". It is a work of well-known German-Hungarian illustrator, military and animalist artist August Ritter von Meissl.

Baron August Ritter von Meissl (1867 Bazin-Pezinok-1926) studied at the academies of Budapest and Munich, where he was a pupil of F.Fehr and J.L.Raab. He was active in Munich until 1926 and was a well-known painter and illustrator.
